The Croft Hardware Vertical Upright Letterplate has been used as a staple on European doors for many years. The letter plate is sprung from the top narrow end of the plate, and can therefore be mounted vertically on a door. This type of letter plate is often seen on the narrow middle mullion between the panels of four or six-panelled doors.
